Introducing The Great Year Long 90s Movie Challenge
First off, we’d like to wish all our readers and contributors a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thank you all for joining us through 2020 to peruse our reviews, articles, opinion pieces, puzzles and not to mention our 80s Movie Challenge, where our gang reminisced (sometimes at length) about the first time they saw 50 of the greatest films of the 80s.
But that was sooooo 2020 and we ended that series on 18th December with Die Hard. Since the arrival of a new year heralds that things must change and progress, there was only one way we could move forward so it’s it with great pride that we announce our new weekly series for 2021, a series in which our gang will reminisce (sometimes at length) about the first time they saw 50 of the greatest films of the 90s.
That’s right! Introducing…
The Great Year Long 90s Movie Challenge
We call it 90s Movie Challenge for short.
Paul kicks things off on Friday 8th January (also his birthday, so a double celebration) with a look back at 1991’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (which is also being shown on BBC One today at 4:30 pm if you want to get in the mood early) and that song which accompanies the film.
In the meantime, to get you in the 90s mood, we’ve got a fun puzzle for you to play. There are thirteen 90s movies from our forthcoming series which are represented in the banner at the top of this post (and we’ve put it at the bottom too to save you having to scroll up. Call it a belated Christmas present – aren’t we nice?).
Can you work out what they all are? Post your guesses in the comments below or head over to Twitter and use the hashtag #90sMC.
