Greetings my Movie Ghouls!
Don’t Look Now is an odd film. Odd to me anyway. It seems so caught up with where to shoot and what to cut to that it makes the film quite jarring.
I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks this, I know Mrs Movie Geek does. But I didn’t enjoy this as much as I feel I should have.
Known as a classic it doesn’t really scare me, and even the end twist doesn’t shock as much as I feel it should.
This film has made me believe Donald Sutherland can’t act. Even though last year we watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers and I found that fine. I feel that in this he didn’t really seem interested.
There was one moment, and I think it’s because of the subject matter that he worked well. That was the moment when he pulled his daughter out of the pond.
Overall I wouldn’t say it’s a terrible movie, but I would say it’s a movie that needs a couple of views. I’d also say that this could be one that would require a remake to maybe update some elements.
