Kickstarter Highlight: Early Haunts

Hey there geeks! It’s been a while, but I’m back (Back! Back!) to tell you about a very special crowdfunding campaign that I’m quite excited about.

Now here at World Geekly News we like a good Kickstarter campaign, we like comics, we like ghost stories, and we also like T.W. Burgess (last Halloween our Paul included his graphic novel Ghoster in his favourite horror books of the year and you can download the first volume free as a PDF or get the e-reader version for a measly 79p on Comixology). Last year T.W. ran an interactive augmented reality book Photoghasts which was pretty special (and sadly, for us, now sold out) and now he’s back with a brand new campaign.

Written by T.W. Burgess, illustrated by Mike O’Brien and Brian Coldrick (whose book of flash horror fiction and illustrations, Behind You, is a real treat), Brianne Newman and David Romero, and coloured by Bryan Valenza, Early Haunts promises to be a fantastic addition to any bookshelf.

Early Haunts takes four well-loved and influential horror films and stories (Frankenstein, Sleepy Hollow, The Ring and A Christmas Carol) and adapts, in comic form, the earlier stories from around the world which themselves influenced and inspired them.

Check out the full details in this lovely poster T.W. sent us, below, and which you can click on to be taken to the Kickstarter campaign. At the time of writing it has reached 80% of its £5000 target. We’ve backed it and we urge you to do so also. Perhaps you will be the one who takes it over the finish line in time for its deadline on 6th November.

For more updates and spooky fun, you can also follow T.W. Burgess on Twitter under the handle @Manoghosts.

As well as writing for Den of Geek and Your Truth, Paul also runs Badgers Crossing, a site for ghost stories. He loves the 1980s and thanks to a keen interest in Public Information Films he has never been electrocuted or set himself on fire.
